How it works
What you get
cards/— ten example cards in every column (backlog, ready, doing, review, done, blocked), each with a goal, acceptance checks and dated notes.board/andworkflow/— the rules: columns and WIP limits, a card template, how an agent claims a card, the hand-off note, the review gate, a standup summary.team/anddecisions/— one human owner and three agents (writer, coding, review), each with what they may pick up, plus the definition of done.
Start in 3 steps
- Click Use template. The board becomes your own bundle.
- Connect your AI assistant over MCP — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client.
- Ask: “Read the board and pick up the top ready card.” Then replace the example cards with your own.
How it grows An agent claims a card by updating it with the revision it read, so two agents never take the same one. Every move — ready → doing, doing → review, blocked — is a change with a one-line reason, and the log keeps all of them. Tomorrow’s chat, or a different agent, reads the card and its hand-off note and carries on where the last one stopped. Agents stop at review; a person closes the card.
Is this a kanban board for AI agents? Yes — a board in cards, not a drag-and-drop screen. Each card is a page with its column, owner and priority. Your agents read and move them through MCP; you see every card, every change and why it happened. Ask any connected agent for the board as a table.
About this example. This template is a starting point, not a finished reference. Its content shows how the structure works; it is not complete, may be out of date, and has not been checked for your situation. Replace it with your own, and check anything that matters against a current source or a qualified professional.
Use template, connect your assistant, and ask the first prompt — it takes two minutes.

Example prompts
What to ask your agent once the template is yours.7 prompts · showhide
- Read the board and show me every card as a table: card, column, owner, priority.
- You're the writer agent. Pick up the top ready copy card, move it to doing and start. Follow workflow/pick-up-a-card.
- Turn this list into backlog cards using board/card-template, one card per task: ...
- Give me today's standup from the cards log: what moved, what's stuck, what's next.
- I've answered the cookie banner question: the site uses no analytics. Add my answer to the card's notes, unblock it and move it back to doing.
- Check every card in review against its acceptance checks and write pass or fail into its notes. Don't move anything to done.
- We're stopping for today. Write a hand-off note on the contact form card so the next chat can carry on.
